Hally’s is my absolute favourite weekend brunch haunt. I discovered it on the very first day that I moved to Parson’s Green a year ago, and have felt an irresistible pull to it ever since. I’ve spent many a happy Sunday morning there sipping on delicious Monmouth coffee and munching my way through their extensive cake list. Its Californian inspired decor makes it a beautifully light and airy space to enjoy catching up with friends over their extremely tasty brunch menu. Hally’s has always been good, but they’ve recently had a menu overhaul and it’s now more delicious than ever. Last weekend, I popped down for a catch up with my girlfriends and a spot of brunch.
Their cakes are tantalisingly stacked up along the bar. If you ever find yourself struggling to choose, go for the the lemon and olive oil cake- you won’t regret it! It gets so busy of a weekend, you will usually have to queue for a table, but it really is worth the wait.
Ride London happened to be on this weekend, so we were able to sit and watch thousands of cyclists zoom by as we sat down and enjoyed the lovely weather with the doors flung wide open..
This poor guy had to stop and fix his punctured tyre! Surprisingly enough, us four girls had absolutely no advice to offer him, but he seemed to know what he was doing and soon got on his way.
We ordered our drinks… they really do make an extremely good coffee!
I went for a ‘Carrot Zinger’ juice to kickstart the day, and Edwina went for a Chai Latte.
Our drinks perked us all up immediately!
After much deliberating, we all eventually ordered food. Katie definitely made the winning choice… A bagel crammed with mushrooms, smoked back bacon, egg and a side of halloumi.
I went for the spinach and stilton quiche…
And it sure was tasty!
We chatted and ate and drank until our hearts were content. Well, almost… we might have got more coffees and cookies to take with us for the walk back! All that was left to do was dodge our way through the cyclists to make our way home. Needless to say we were stood at this zebra crossing for a while!
As usual, it was the perfect start to a Sunday morning- Hally’s and Parson’s Green were just as beautiful as the very first weekend I moved in.
