The Ivy Chelsea Garden

Brunch is hands down my favourite weekend activity.  There has been a real buzz around a new restaurant that has opened up on The Kings Road, and so my housemates and I thought it was about time that we checked it out.  The Ivy Chelsea Garden is pretty much fully booked up 2 months in advance, but we just about managed to get an early Saturday morning table.

Inside was extremely decadent.  We were led past the glamorous bar….

and to our beautifully botanical table!

The attention to detail in the decoration was incredible, and it really did have a quite magical feel to it.  The lighting in there was lovely, and it felt like a very calming place to sit and enjoy. We were rather pleased with our comfy booth next to the window!

Even the menu was garden themed…

Our drinks arrived, and it quickly became clear that Eddy had made the winning choice with her white hot chocolate…

Although Paul was pretty happy with his Americano.

The brunch menu had everything you could possibly wish for, from pancakes to a full english.  We were all craving savoury though, and could not have been happier with our choices.

I went for the The Garden Breakfast. I’m not vegetarian but it just sounded delicious and had some of my favourite things in it- avocado, grilled halloumi, hollandaise, and mushrooms.  Needless to say I was very pleased with my choice when it arrived.

Eddy went for the Eggs Royale…

And Paul went for the Full English…

All three of us tried to make it last as long as possible, and each declared that our own dish was the best.

I’m still convinced that mine was the winner! It was all so tasty and beautifully cooked- one of the best breakfasts I have ever had.  The potato and kale hash was a real treat, and it all tasted lovely and light. Anyone that can make halloumi taste non- squeaky is a pro in my eyes!

Once we had finished, it had just about got warm enough outside for the waiter to fling open the folding doors.

Outside was the real hidden gem- a beautiful walled garden with tables and outdoor fireplaces and a water feature. Not something you often come across in London!

I can’t wait to come back again in the evening and sit outside on a warm summer night.  They even have lovely striped blankets for you to keep warm in.

The food was delicious, the staff friendly and the surroundings were just beautiful.  It was the perfect way to kick-start the weekend, and I will most certainly be back!
